The list of mortgage packages, incentives, and discounts is growing all of the time! We try and keep on top of them all but are sometimes surprised ourselves. With the mortgage market slowing (and a healthy level of competition) banks are selectively using price to win and retain business. Many of these packages are offered below the counter, so we cannot promote them here specifically.
The professional discounts range from 0.50% off floating rates (all up rate of 5.75%) and up to 0.25% off fixed rates. On many occasions there are also legal contributions. The packaged pricing can be quite lender specific, but sometimes multiple banks will come to the party and offer discounts to retain existing customers.
