Sam brings a sharp financial mind to the Squirrel team, shaped by an early career stint in tax accounting (enough to earn his Chartered Accountant stripes) before diving into the world of home loans. He started out as a credit writer at Lighthouse Financial and hasn’t looked back since.
Based in Auckland and working with clients nationwide, he’s fluent in financial bro lingo — but always keeps things in plain English.
Outside of work, you’ll find him rolling on mats (jiu jitsu), catching up with friends and family, or baking next-level brownies. They’re legendary. Just don’t ask him to cook anything else.
Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ), Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and NZ Certificate in Financial Services. Sam McQueen is a regulated Financial Adviser and provides specialist mortgage advice. Squirrel Mortgages is a licensed Financial Advice Provider and regulated by the Financial Markets Authority to provide advice on mortgages.
