Matt Blackwell

Director; Member – People & Culture Committee; Board Representative – Investment Committee

Matt is a Professional Director with broad international and New Zealand experience spanning financial markets, investment, and governance. Before returning to New Zealand in 2014, he was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank Singapore and Co-Head of FICC Sales for Asia; since then, he has held senior roles including Chief Executive and Director of OM Financial and leadership roles at Jarden, alongside a number of current directorships spanning investment, racing, and market oversight. Matt has been a member of the New Zealand Market Disciplinary Tribunal ("NZMDT") since 2017 and currently serves as Chair of the Special Division. Matt sits on our People & Culture Committee and is the Board representative on our Investment Committee—his background in capital markets and investments bringing a sharp perspective to the Squirrel board.
